(F1 and higher) to Pomeranian. Whatever generation the Pomsky is will be followed by a letter b. For example, if it is an F2 Pomsky bred to a Pomeranian, the puppies will be F2b Pomskies. Similarly, an F2 Pomsky bred to a Husky is also an F2b. "B" represents "bred back" to a foundation breed—Pomsky to Pomsky. The BEST Part, Bringing Your Floof Home:
We want to ensure that you are well-prepared for the arrival of your new puppy. We understand that owning a Pomsky may be a new experience for you, and we want to provide you with some helpful tips and pointers to ensure that you and your new furry friend have the best start possible. By providing you with this information, we hope to increase your chances of success with your new puppy and make the transition as smooth as possible. We highly recommend not putting your puppy on the ground in public until it has received all its vaccines. This is especially important when visiting the vet, dog parks, or pet stores. Doing so can help prevent your puppy from being exposed to harmful diseases and viruses that can be easily transmitted in these areas. We understand that this may require some extra effort on your part, but it is well worth it to ensure the long-term health and well-being of your new furry family member. Ensure your puppy has had all its vaccines before these activities to give your pup the best possible start in life. Your puppy must receive at least three rounds of vaccines before going out for a walk. It is important to wait at least one week after the third round of vaccines to ensure that your puppy is fully protected. We will give your puppy their first vaccines at eight weeks old and their first booster at 12 weeks if the puppies continue with us. Once you pick up your puppy, please continue their vaccine schedule. When you take your puppy to the vet after bringing them home, please ensure you take the record that we provided you with their vaccination and worming history. This way, your vet can schedule the following vaccines properly. We STRONGLY recommend that your puppy sees your vet within 72 hours of leaving our program. We also recommend that you take a fecal to the vet on your first visit. We treat all our puppies for different intestinal parasites, but sometimes, treating them takes a little longer than 8-9 weeks. If your puppy still needs to continue with his deworming, your vet will let you know what treatment he should receive.
Let's Talk Safety:
We all understand that Pomskies are desirable dogs because of their stunning looks and wonderful personalities. That is why you are here, right? However, we also want to remind our puppy parents of the importance of safety measures to ensure their pet is always safe and secure. We strongly recommend putting your Pomsky's name and telephone number on a tag on its collar. Additionally, we suggest getting your Pomsky microchipped to help you find it if it escapes and ends up in the pound. There are also newer GPS tags available. These measures will give you peace of mind and increase your chances of finding your furry friend if it gets lost. Also, because Pomskies are so pretty, some people might try to steal or keep it if they see it. So, keep your puppy supervised in a fenced yard, on a leash, or in your arms!
Now the Fun Stuff, Toys:
As a responsible Pomsky owner, you must be mindful of the toys you give your furry friend. While stuffed squeaky toys may seem fun, it is important to supervise your Pomsky while they play with them. Pomskies tend to chew and rip apart toys, which can threaten their health if they ingest the stuffing or squeaky device. Instead, we recommend playing tug-of-war with your Pomsky using rope toys. They enjoy the game, and it is a great way to bond with your pet. Additionally, letting your Pomsky chew on a rope toy while you are present can help keep their teeth clean and healthy. Train your Pomsky to not bite or chew on things they should not. It is recommended to provide them with proper chew toys and redirect their attention to those toys if they bite or chew on something they should not. Consistency is critical when training your Pomsky, and positive reinforcement can be very effective. By teaching your Pomsky what is acceptable to chew on, you can help prevent damage to your belongings and ensure a happy and healthy relationship with your furry friend.
Bedding:
We know one of the first purchases you will make is a comfortable bed for your puppy to rest on. However, it is important to remember that dogs can be mischievous and may chew on things when bored or anxious. We recommend gradually training your dog to understand what they can and cannot chew on and providing plenty of toys and activities to keep them occupied. Additionally, it may be helpful to supervise your dog in a new environment or around new objects to prevent any destructive behavior. It is important to remember that these dogs have a lot of energy and love to chew on things, as most puppies do. To prevent them from destroying their bed or toys, it is best to correct them when they start to bite them while you're present. It is also important not to leave them alone with their bed or toys. If you need to leave them alone, you may choose to leave something durable enough to withstand biting without tearing into pieces that could be swallowed and potentially dangerous.

Introducing Your Puppy To Other Dogs:
It is crucial to introduce your puppies to other dogs in a safe and controlled manner. We recommend having one puppy in a crate and allowing the other dog to sniff the crated puppy for a few minutes. Once the other dog starts to ignore your puppy, then it is safe to let them touch each other. However, it is crucial to supervise them for a little bit to make sure there are no signs of aggression or trouble. We advise that you ensure no food or toys are around to avoid any posturing or fights. This is especially important if you are introducing a puppy to an older, established pet in your home. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help you and ensure the safety and happiness of your Pomsky.
